Britta Anderson
Bismarck, ND
Anderson has always had the intention of working deliberately with the natural landscapes she inhabits, places she has been and has grown a relationship to. Raised in the Midwest, impacted the story of her work and how she observes her surroundings, influences consisting of childhood memories of barefoot escapades and scraped up knees, where she made the evergreens her jungle gym. Her art practice is currently a response of emotional content. Feelings of isolation, solitude, and quiet pervade throughout the work. She is not concerned on solely composing what’s in front of her, but rather evoking the curiosity of relationships to places, by extending the boundaries of the self into unknown territories.
