Gallery Founders launched at Scottsdale event

The Gallery Founders campaign to raise funds for the Foundation's creation of offices and The Capital Gallery in downtown Bismarck is off to a great start, according to Foundation president David Borlaug. Kicked off at a reception at the Larsen Gallery in Scottsdale, AZ in February, the campaign will also fund Foundation operations and art acquisitions, with a goal of $500,000.

"With a lead gift of $50,000 from Bette Bergeson of Peoria, AZ the campaign has already passed $200,000 in gifts and pledges," says Borlaug. Other major gifts so far include $25,000 from Basin Electric Power Cooperative; $25,000 from Great River Energy; $20,000 from the Bill Rockenbach family, Osaka, Japan; $15,000 from Marvin Snyder, Santa Maria, CA; and $13,000 from Greg and Kate Smith of Scottsdale, AZ. The Smith gift is an in-kind contribution of John Coleman's bronze "Calling the Spirits."

Contributors wishing to become Gallery Founders may contact David Borlaug at 701.220.3491. Gifts may be pledged up to five years if desired. All donors receive a beautiful glass-blown vase made by Fargo artist Jon Offutt, with a design created exclusively for Gallery Founders.
