Capital Gallery exhibit features 2 artists separated by 2,200 miles
The Capital Gallery in Bismarck is featuring an exhibit created by two artists from different generations with different styles of work.
The studios of abstract artist Jessica Wachter, of Bismarck, and Florida-based photographic artist Kent Burkhardsmeier, originally from Bismarck, are separated by 2,200 miles. Their collaborative body of work took more than 1 ½ years to curate.
"Connected" is described as expressing “the unlikely marriage of literal + abstract, reinforces the connections that can be found just a layer or two beyond the obvious.”
The exhibition features abstract painting on photographic metal prints; photographic prints on glass overlaying abstract paintings on canvas; and abstract pastel painting on printed images on textured paper.
The exhibit runs through Jan. 8. The nonprofit Capital Gallery is at 109 N. 4th St. in Bismarck. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, or by appointment. For more information contact David Borlaug or Codi Miller at (701) 751-1698.
